— Stella Polaris (Finland)
////Prosti pad, improvisational theatre

Concept and acting:
Ville Tiihonen, Elina Strikkinen in Jami Hyttinen
Music: Hannu Risku
Lights: Goran Završnik

Stella Polaris theatre was founded in 1990 in Helsinki and is considered a pioneer of improvisational theatre in Finland – thus somewhat equivalent to the Slovenian troupe Ana Monro. Stella Polaris have spread their theatrical knowledge – first developed from the doctrines of Keith Johnstone and Del Close, later enriched with Finnish theatre traditions and their own stylistic preferences – as teachers all across the country. The group members are famous actors in Finnish theatre, television and film, whose biggest love is improvisation.
////After the initial input from the audience, who give the title to the play they are about to see, the actors throw themselves into a wild improvisational narrative, which combines various genres. Spoken scenes are sometimes spiced up with songs, followed by emotionally charged melodrama, only to be eventually boosted with movement and action. The show is a flow: as unpredictable for the audience as it is for the peformers.
